Some time in January, Mike and I went on a spontaneous day trip that we picked out from our boxtroll (a box where I put strips of paper with all sorts of activities Mike and I can do. I guess it's like a date jar but mostly trips and road trips). We ended up going to Malangaan Cave and Spring in San Rafael, Bulacan - about a 2.5-hour drive away from Manila. The area isn't commercialized yet so there's no official way to go about the grounds. We enlisted two local kids to lead us around the caves, both of whom weren't even half of Mike's height yet. Naturally, they fit through the crevices a lot easier than Mike and I did but I guess that's part of the adventure. It was fun exploring the cave, albeit a little dangerous - especially when we had to cross a gap which was a bit of a ways down and we were stemming (HA! learned that from Running Wild!) our way through. I like to think we made Bear Grylls proud. The spring was definitely a refreshing end to all the exploration.
